general Access info for festival visitors
Entrance: Access is via Oldham Street entrance. Width of doors is 160cm. There is one 15cm step up, and we will provide a ramp for access. Unfortunately we cannot provide full unassisted access by keeping the ramp on the entrance all day so there will be a sandwich board outside the entrance with a number to ring if you do need access.
Toilets: All toilets are on the first floor, including the accessible toilet which can be reached by lift. It is 27 steps up, or you can take the lift and go through a set of fire doors. Both the stairs and lift are approx 30m from the zine fair room. All toilets are off a wide hallway. The accessible toilet is a single cubicle. Entrance is 75cm wide and has a low sink.
Sensory access: we will provide earplugs for those who want them, as the zine fest is all in one big room.
Accessible Parking: available on nearby Tib Street, High Street, and Brick Street
Public transport: the venue is a 200m walk from Piccadilly and Market Street tram stops, and Piccadilly Gardens bus terminal. It is approx 800m from Piccadilly Train Station.

Covid 19 and Mask policy
We know that Covid hasn’t gone away and is still a threat. We want to practice community care wherever we can, and for those of us with compromised immune systems, this means enabling as much mask use as possible. We know it's not perfect, particularly as masks make it harder for d/Deaf and hard of hearing people to communicate, but we are trying to get a good balance that protects the most vulnerable in our communities.
Here's what we'll be doing before the festival:
Here's what we'll be doing at the festival:
We will encourage and request mask use as much as possible, but need to recognise that we can't enforce it. We’ve thought about this really carefully. We hope that those of us who are able to wear masks will do so as an act of care and to reduce the risk of harm.
Here's what we'll be doing before the festival:
- requesting mask use in all advance materials to stallholders and visitors via email, website and our socials
- requesting covid lateral flow testing in advance for all stallholders and visitors via email, website and socials, and obviously staying home if positive
Here's what we'll be doing at the festival:
- sandwich boards on the pavement outside asking for mask use
- a welcome desk at the entrance providing free masks, hand gel, active written and verbal requests to wear masks, and info about how this connects to community care and disability justice
- the double doors will remain open throughout for ventilation
