in-person workshops
Our next workshops will be at Multitudes Zine Fest on Saturday 17th August in Manchester City Centre. More details to follow...
make a zine at home
*******SUBMISSIONS CLOSED*******
If you've had a zine-in-the-post kit from us, great! Send it to us by Monday 22nd July 2024, 8pm if you want us to do copies.
If you can't post it back in time for the deadline, you can scan it and send it to [email protected]
Some public libraries have a photocopier that scan items for free and you can then email them to yourself. Email the finished zine to yourself first, then pass it on to us so we know who it's from!
Scan it at a minimum of 300dpi and send to us in PDF format. Ask a librarian to help you! :)
We're leaving this bit up for people who need a bit of instruction.....
Want us to send you a kit for making your zine at home? This is for all of you who can't come to one of the in-person workshops, whatever the reason.
Give us your postal address* and we'll send you instructions and prompts for making a zine, as well as some paper, and a stamped return envelope. All you need is a pencil and eraser, maybe a ruler if you like straight lines and neatness (I don't, so this is totally up to you!) and a pen in a colour that will show up nice and bold against the white paper. You could also cut up magazine images or junk mail for background images if you want, and you can of course draw, doodle or scribble your borders - it's wide open for whatever you want to do.
Once you've made your zine, post it back to us and we will print 15 copies of it. We'll send 10 to you for you to hand out or sell or leave as an unexpected gift on a bus seat. We'll keep the remaining 5 to feature in the Multitudes Zine Fest in 2024 (which OF COURSE you are invited to, as one of the featured zinesters!)
*remember: you can ask us to send the zine kit to any address you will be able to receive it. We know that not everyone has privacy at home or on their phone/email, so please give us the address and details that will be best for you. We want you to be able to make the zine about any topic you want, and we don't want to put you in a risky position as you do so.
All of the contact info you share with us will stay 100% confidential. We'll only use it to contact you about your zine and to let you know details about the festival.

past workshops
So far, over 2023 and 2024 we've been holding zine making workshops across Greater Manchester - at HACK Oldham and Bridge 5 Mill with Commonword; at The Proud Place, with Superbia; at Heywood Market, with Cartwheel Arts; and at St Peter's RC High School in Belle Vue, and with the wonderful Poetry Library. Our stash of gorgeous handmade zines is growing, and we can't wait to share them with you at the festival!
